Lets Open a Dialogue

Forests. Healthy oceans. Breathable air. Pure, clean, drinkable water.

My father once told me that when he was a young man, he never dreamed that such things would ever fade or be lost. It was his greatest regret that he, and those of his generation, would pass on a world that for the first time in all of human history the end of such things may be in sight.

We must not continue to allow our society to spend the environmental integrity of the future with the avarice of today. We must take real action in our lives to do something.

It is for this reason that I am running for Chairperson of the Green Party of BC.

I suppose I could simply tell you that I have a lengthy record of environmental and social service, and have demonstrated my commitment to my community through many causes over the years. I was elected Chairperson of my student society in college, co-founded and served as President of the UBC Student Legal Fund Society (and still serve on its board), am Director of the Kitsilano Community Centre Association in Vancouver and have just recently served a year as the National Manager of the Great Canadian Shoreline Cleanup, Canada’s largest direct-action environmental event.

But even more importantly, I am committed. I am optimistic. I believe we are not yet past the point of no return, and we can leave a safer and healthier world for our children.

If - and only if - we do something.

Green Party of BC member? Please support my bid for Chair of the BC Green Party this November at the AGM. But no matter how you choose to vote, find out about the candidates and get involved!

Not a member of the Green Party? Please join us; isn't it about time you felt proud of how you cast your vote?

Kind Regards,
